Known for her ability to create the perfect brows for any face, Tonya began her career as an artist. She first studied in London at the Royal Academy of Art. While in London, she began doing makeup on the side in order to pay for some of her expenses. Tonya immediately realized that her love for canvas was easily transferred to a new surface – the faces of her clients. Tonya traveled to Paris, where she studied makeup at Make Up For Ever School. She then returned to San Francisco, where she worked in the industry for many years before deciding that she needed a new challenge. Tonya moved to Los Angeles – the competitive epicenter of fashion and beauty – powered by the local celebrity base. Her enviable career included work in television, film, editorial spreads, special effects, body painting and runway. She has worked with such prestigious designers as Michael Kors, Valentino and Thierry Mugler. What sets Tonya apart from other professionals in her industry is her ability to work with a person’s face shape and natural brow line to create a look that is natural, well-groomed, individualistic and consistent. Tonya says “I look at each client’s face, their natural lines and arches. I try to keep brows as natural as possible and shape them so that they look like they belong on the person’s face. I don’t do the same style for everybody.” Recently, Tonya joined the talented team at Goo Salon. Now celebrities and the public alike can come to Salon Goo to receive the full star treatment!
